On March 5, Sierra Roots Board of Directors hosted its first Volunteer Appreciation Mixer, held at the Nevada City Co-Housing Dining Room. The celebration was with profound gratitude to the many volunteers who have manifested their heartfelt dedication and passion to Sierra Roots’ vision and mission.
As it turned out, the Mixer was held on a very cold and wet evening in Nevada City. The warming shelter at the Nevada City Veteran’s hall was open so that our homeless friends could get in out of the extreme weather, get dried off, have a hot healing supper, and a warm place for a night’s sleep within the spirit of community.
A special shout-out goes to the wonderful volunteers who were at the shelter during the Mixer event! They include Kathy Mann (who also serves on the Board), Debbie Arnold, Jim Arnold, Karen Bledsoe, Neil Bledsoe, Monte Cazazza, Cat Cook, Keith Cantrell, Bob Davis, Mary Eve, Jack Fitzpatrick, Jesse Gardner, Andrea Groos, Peter Harris, Jackie Janssen, Keith Johnson, Kathy Jones, Bill Kerler, Alice Littone, Suzan Lang, Erin Minnett, Mona-Lisa Mallo, Mary O’Brien, Gabe Rosa, Steve Smithson, Steve Temple, Eric Tomb, Jo Wanser, and Diane Weichel.
